Support Nature Conservation Efforts – the ‘I’iwi Fund
Hawaii faces numerous threats to its environment and culture. One example is the Hawaiian Honeycreepers, a unique group of birds found only in Hawaii. They represent the most impressive evolutionary process among birds, yet they are also the most endangered tribe of birds in the world, with more extinctions than any other. It is astonishing how few residents and visitors are aware of these natural wonders in our forests and the vital role they play in our ecosystem. The ‘I’iwi Fund aims to ensure that the ‘I’iwi bird doesn't disappear, and it is our small contribution to protect these beautiful creatures.

Insight
Hawai’i Island is 4,000 square miles of stunning terrain. This vibrant island, the youngest in the archipelago, was formed by five volcanoes, two of which are still active to this day. Among its remarkable features is the world's most active volcano, the Kilauea Caldera. Since 1983, Kilauea has been erupting non-stop, and in spring 2018, it unleashed a record-breaking amount of lava from its lower east rift zone. The sheer power of this event, unprecedented since record-keeping began in 1794, left a lasting impression on the island.
Witness the aftermath of her incredible forces and experience the serenity that now graces this extraordinary island. Our full-day land tour of Kilauea is a must-do for your Hawaiian island getaway. From the mesmerizing black lava fields to the bubbling pots of Pele, the volcano goddess, this rare geological phenomenon will leave you in awe. Take in breathtaking views of the majestic Pacific as you stand on the mountainside. The impressive crater and lava-scarred landscape are unique to volcanic activity, making this national park unlike any other in the US. We’ll even explore a private lava cave not open to the general public!
Our educational tour includes stops at the Kilauea Visitor Center and insightful commentary from certified guides, who will share ancient Hawaiian legends and lore. We will pick you up from one of several convenient locations and provide a delicious deli-style lunch and picnic dinner. Perfect for visitors with a sense of adventure, this interactive experience promises fun and valuable knowledge.
