The Ultimate Volcano Adventure begins at Waikīkī on O'ahu (drive yourself to the airport on the outer island). Your private guide will meet you at the Hilo airport, ready to take you everywhere. You will have two full days of exploring the Hilo area and Volcanoes National Park. Depending on the time of the year and weather, the schedule may change so that your 45-minute helicopter flight could be on your first or second day on the Big Island.
On the first day, your guide will take you all around Hilo, showing you the historic sites, beautiful black sand beaches, waterfalls, and rainforests before driving to Volcanoes National Park. You will be checked into your room and given time to explore. If there is a lava glow, your guide will return after dinner and pick you up for an evening hike to see it. In all cases, if there is an active eruption, your guide will ensure you have the best views possible.
Your night at the historic Volcano House on the edge of Kīlauea will be amazing, and the beautiful views out your window in the morning will be breathtaking. After a leisurely breakfast, your guide will pick you up to explore all the popular sites within the park and a few others that you may have missed otherwise. You will drive as far down the Chain Of Craters road as you prefer.
Stops at multiple overlooks, Thurston Lava Tube, and the visitor center can occur on either day, depending on your schedule. Your guide wonʻt let you miss a thing.
Completing your national park tour will be a 45-minute helicopter ride that takes off from the Hilo Airport. Your pilot will narrate and point out sites as you fly over the active volcano, various other craters, and unique landforms. The views from the helicopter will blow you away as you will realize how incredible the earth's movements are.
After the ride, you will board a flight back to Honolulu, Kahului, or Lihue completing an amazing two days exploring the volcanoes on the island of Hawai'i.

To help our communities with tourism, we encourage our guests to purchase food, drinks, and other items directly from the local family farms, bakeries, and restaurants we visit. They are places you would want to come back and visit again on your own!
Our vehicles contain coolers with cold canned, non-alcoholic drinks for our guests. We don't provide plastic water bottles but we do have clean, great-tasting water for refilling your own water bottle.
Depending on the group, we may make stops at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Plantation, a honey farm, Hilo's Farmer's Market, food truck lots, or other locations. Your guide will choose the best spots for that day.
We will no longer provide car seats for children on our Big Island tours. Guests traveling with young children must bring their own car seats.
Any inter-island tours or O'ahu tours originating from the Islands of Maui, Big Island, and Kaua'i may incur up to $100.00 per person airline change fee (if flights are included in your tour) for any changes to the original booking (this is currently being waived by airlines). Any request for a refund before 72 hours will result in a full credit for a future tour. Travel Insurance: A cash refund is available on tours with flights when you purchase the travel insurance (available during the booking process). No refunds are issued for any tours canceled within the 72 hour period, before the start of your tour.
