We offer meals on this tour. Canned non-alcoholic drinks are available all day in the vehicle's cooler.
We make stops for treats and snacks you can purchase.
Your guide will provide an option for a deli-style picnic lunch at the Punalu'u Bakery and a restaurant dinner in Hilo. Depending on the group and other daily constraints, your guide may change which locations will be visited for meals.
Your guide will take into account any dietary requirements.

Guidance

We will no longer provide car seats for children on our Big Island tours. Guests traveling with young children must bring their own car seats.

Booking

We do not refund tour prices due to weather-related reasons. We will promise an incredible volcano experience but unfortunately cannot control the weather. Guests will be charged 100% of the tour price for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled tour.

A combined minimum of 4 guests is required for a tour to operate. Should a tour not meet the tour minimum, customers can reschedule or receive a full refund. Advance notice will be provided at least 12 hours before the start time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to wear?

For all tours, we recommend comfortable walking shoes. For hiking tours, ankle support is important but not necessary. You’re welcome to wear slippers (flip-flops) for comfort, but sneakers are really the way to go without worry. We cannot swim on tour at the beach or in a waterfall, so a towel is unnecessary. However, you’re welcome to bring a towel if you dip your toes at the black sand beach.
What should we bring? Can I bring a drone?

We’ll provide umbrellas, flashlights, and towels for all occasions. While cameras are welcome, drones are prohibited in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.
Are there bathrooms onboard your vehicle?

There aren’t any facilities on board. However, we plan to make frequent restroom stops throughout the tour.
Do you accommodate wheelchairs?

We do! Although we don’t have a lift for fixed wheelchairs, we have storage for collapsible wheelchairs only. We may be able to make further accommodations for private tours. Please call for details.
Will I see lava flowing?

An active lava flow is, unfortunately, never guaranteed. In most cases, visitors can view some lava flow close to lava viewing access points.
