Professional Nature Guide
Honolulu is a great place to live, work, and play, but sometimes you just need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our rainforest hiking tour is the perfect way to do that. This lush landscape is home to vine-encrusted trees, wild ginger, huge ferns, and our experienced guides will help you navigate your way through in search of waterfalls, epic valley views, and even hidden temples. And what’s more, it’s a great way to support local businesses and adventurous activities. So, if you’re looking for a way to escape the everyday grind, this is it.
We will start off by picking you up from one of several convenient locations and transport you to the trailhead. Then, we start our 2.5-mile hike along the slopes of an ancient cinder cone volcano and explore a lush native rainforest preserve offering sweeping views of Oahu’s two parallel mountain ranges.
We operate with the required State of Hawaii permits and license agreements for access to private lands that many times is exclusive to our company. Our experienced, local guides are intimately familiar with the trail and will identify plants and animal species endemic to Hawaii. You will be treated to views of both the highest point of the volcanic Ko’olau Mountain range (Konahuanui at 3150 feet), the highest point of O’ahu (Mt. Ka’ala at 4025 feet), Le’ahi (Diamond Head) volcano crater, Honolulu, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, Kailua, and the shimmering Pacific Ocean.

Our rainforest hiking tour takes you through this natural landscape, where you’ll see vine-encrusted trees, wild ginger, and huge ferns. You’ll also have the chance to search for waterfalls, epic valley views, and even hidden temples. With a knowledgeable guide leading the way, you’re sure to have an unforgettable experience.
There are two types of native plants, endemic and indigenous. Endemic plants are native to only one place in the world, while indigenous plants are native to multiple places around the world. Hawaii has an unusually high proportion (89 percent) of endemic native plant species due to its isolation in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The rainforest is teeming with life, and native plants play an important role in maintaining the rainforest ecosystem. They provide food and shelter for animals, help to regulate the local climate, and prevent soil erosion. In addition, many native plants have medicinal properties that can be used to treat a variety of ailments.
We are proud to be a local, family-owned, and operated company.
